Forty years ago, our Founder, Rick Hansen, set out on the Man In Motion World Tour — a 26-month, 40,000-kilometre journey through 34 countries. His goal was to create awareness of the potential of people with disabilities and to raise money to remove barriers. What began as one Man In Motion ignited a global movement for accessibility and disability inclusion.

A story that changed Canada returns to the spotlight. Forty years ago, one man set out to change how the world saw disability. This fall, his story comes to the big screen.
Premiering at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and screening at Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), ‘Rick Hansen: Man In Motion’ takes audiences behind the headlines and beyond the finish line, revealing the people, determination, and moments that transformed the Man In Motion World Tour into a catalyst for change.
Featuring rare archival footage and personal reflections from those who were there, the film goes beyond the public story to reveal the human side of the Tour.
