Whether you're celebrating a milestone, honouring someone special, taking on a personal challenge, or bringing your workplace or community together, your fundraiser can help create a more accessible and inclusive future.
Every dollar you raise for the Rick Hansen Foundation helps remove barriers, inspire change, and create communities where people of all ages and abilities can participate fully.
Getting started is easy
1: Choose your fundraiser
There isn't one "right" way to fundraise. Choose something that reflects your interests, celebrates a special occasion, challenges you to try something new, or simply brings people together for a great cause. Your support ensures more buildings across Canada are accessible, more youth are educated about disability, and will empower more people with disabilities to have greater access to our country’s beautiful outdoors.
Every fundraiser helps create more accessible and inclusive communities.
Looking for inspiration?
Here are just a few ideas to get you started:
- Move for accessibility: walk, wheel, run, ride, hike, swim, dance, or take on a personal fitness challenge.
- Get creative: bake, paint, knit, garden, write, or create something people will love to support.
- Bring your community together: host a barbecue, trivia night, office Olympics, community picnic, or get the old band together for a gig.
- Challenge yourself: Give something up for 40 days, take a cold plunge, read a book a week, or dream up your own challenge.
- Get kids involved: organize a dress-up day, lemonade stand, read-a-thon, scavenger hunt, sports day, talent show, or face-painting station.
What’s Your 40 Challenge?
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Man In Motion World Tour by creating your own 40 Challenge.
Maybe you'll:
• Walk, wheel, or run 40 kilometres.
• Recruit 40 donors.
• Raise $400 or $4,000.
• Host a 40-minute fitness or yoga class.
• Bake 40 cookies.
• Wash 40 cars.
• Read 40 books.
• Volunteer 40 hours.
• Create your own 40-themed challenge.
Not ready to host a fundraiser? You can still support accessibility with a one-time or monthly gift.
2: Create Your Fundraising Page
Setting up your fundraiser only takes a few minutes.
Create your online fundraising page, personalize it with your story, and make it easy for friends, family, colleagues, and your community to support your fundraiser online. Donations made through your page are secure, and eligible donors will automatically receive a tax receipt where applicable.
Your fundraising page is also a great place to share updates, celebrate milestones, and thank the people who support your journey.
