We’ve implemented policies and tools to enrich our best practices in the recruitment, orientation, and retention of people of all abilities. Our team developed a Workplace Inclusion Policy which is Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliant. Approximately 30% of our workforce identify as people with a disability and our office facilities are accessible and follow Universal Design guidelines.
The Foundation is committed to continually ensuring all of our communications are accessible for people of all abilities. We strive to ensure the rickhansen.com website is WCAG 2.0 compliant by partnering with website accessibility consultants including people with disabilities to create an inclusive digital experience for all customers, regardless of ability.
The eSSENTIAL Accessibility icon on the top navigation of our website is provided for users who have trouble typing, moving a mouse, gesturing or reading a screen with an assistive technology app, available on desktop and Android devices. The app is a keyboard, mouse and touch replacement solution to help individuals with physical disabilities navigate the website. The app features hands-free face tracking, voice activated controls, visual click assist, on-screen keyboard and text-to-speech capabilities.
