Hi! My name is Alisha. I was born with a joint condition called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita or AMC for short. I live in a small town in Central Newfoundland and Labrador. I’ve lived in this area my whole life. AMC is a joint condition which has given me curved wrists, knees, shoulders and the list goes on. I have relied on a power wheelchair my whole life, I like to think that is a privilege. Mainly because I get to see and experience things differently, then I’m able to offer a different perspective for those around me. As I’ve gotten older my mobility has decreased and in that process I have developed an increased passion for accessibility issues and the rights of persons with disabilities. I’ve done some public speaking on the subject, I love the opportunity to educate people by sharing facts and sharing my personal experiences.
