Everyone Everywhere

#Everyone
Everywhere

Everyone Everywhere means maximizing the potential of all through physical freedom. It means we’re going to open the world and bring access to more people in more places. It means we’re going to rally an entire nation. And we won’t stop until everyone can go everywhere.

Why is this movement important?

The lack of physical accessibility in the built environment is a fundamental barrier.  If all Canadians can’t access the places where we live, work, learn and play, then they’re unable to contribute to and participate fully in society. And with our rapidly aging population and the increasing number of people with varying disabilities, improving accessibility in our communities is more important than ever.

Why do we need to improve accessibility?

1. A lack of access affects every Canadian. Approximately 50% of Canadian adults have or have experienced a permanent or temporary disability or know someone who has.

2. The majority of our public places and buildings in Canada are not accessible. Building codes differ in every province and they aren’t enough to make our spaces meaningfully accessible for all.

3. Canada is less when people are excluded. Great societies become even greater when everyone has equal access, is fully engaged, and can realize their potential.

4. The costs to society are immense when people are excluded, including higher social and health care costs and lost potential for organizations and our economy.

We have the ability to make this change happen in our lifetime — Canada can lead the world!

“Including every citizen in society isn’t a ‘nice to have’ — it’s the hallmark of a great society.  Great societies become greater when everyone has equal access, is fully engaged, and can realize their potential”.
– Rick Hansen, Founder RHF

Let's create a world where Everyone can go Everywhere.

Can you imagine a world built for everyone?
