Pat is an accessibility educator and consultant who is passionate about building strong communities. She helps people and organizations to understand what steps they can take to make the built environment inclusive for everyone.
Pat had the privilege of designing, developing and delivering the innovative curriculum for the RHFAC Program. She teaches at Vancouver Community College (VCC) and also facilitated the successful launch at Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). The course quickly gained traction is now being taught at a number of recognized post-secondary institutions across Canada.
A Professional Engineer and teacher, Pat earned a Civil Engineering degree from Queen’s University, an MBA from York University, a Certificate in Computing Studies from Simon Fraser and a Provincial Instructor Diploma from VCC. With a 30-plus year career, working for numerous organizations in both Canada and the US, Pat has become adept at working with teams to help them achieve their goals.

PeopleFirst Accessibility Solutions provides customized accessibility training and consulting services to organizations that either design the communities we live in, or that simply want to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. PeopleFirst also conducts assessments for existing buildings and performs pre-construction reviews, based on the RHFAC.
