Man Conquer Grouse Grind After Sustaining Spinal Cord Injury |
For even the fittest individuals, the Grouse Grind represents a gruelling physical challenge. For Gerry Burns, who sustained a spinal cord injury five and a half years ago, the 853 metres (2,800 feet) of elevation gain, 2800 steps, and 2.9 kms of rugged trail meant an incredible 8.5 hour journey to conquer a personal goal he’s had since getting injured.
On behalf of the entire Rick Hansen Foundation, congratulations Gerry! As well, thanks to everyone who donated to Grind Out Paralysis. It’s only through the selfless generosity of donors like you and the courage of supporters like Gerry that we can continue funding the innovative, collaborative research that will one day lead to a cure for spinal cord injury.
