Make a Difference

Here at the Foundation, we know that small acts can make a big difference.

Back on August 26th, 1986, a girl named Leslie Tomblin from Newfoundland, Canada followed behind the Man In Motion World Tour van on her bicycle. Strapped behind the seat of her bike were two empty ice cream buckets. Above the buckets was a sign that read, DONATIONS.

Leslie collected $4,700.90 on her ride that day. Without knowing it, she also became the Rick Hansen Foundation’s very first fundraiser.
