We gratefully acknowledge the generous support we’ve received from all levels of Government over the past 25 years. Our Government Partners have provided critical investment at many points in Rick Hansen’s journey, supporting his dream and his work since the Man In Motion World Tour. Today, Government is our biggest investor, contributing 65% of the Foundation’s funding for research and quality of life initiatives that address the priorities of Canadians with SCI and other disabilities.
BC Premier Gordon Campbell at Blusson Spinal Cord Centre groundbreaking ceremony on November 7, 2006.
We would like to specifically thank the Government of Canada and our Provincial and Territorial partners for sharing and investing in our vision for a unified, national network for SCI research, clinical care and accessible communities. Over the last five years, government has invested more than $70 million to support SCI leadership and the work of the Rick Hansen Institute (RHI) across the country.
We look forward to continuing to collaborate with all levels of Government to set new standards for excellence in spinal cord research, treatment, and full accessibility, and to make Canada the best place in the world for people with disabilities to lead healthy, active and productive lives.
