For the UN’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Rick Hansen is in The Globe and Mail with two challenges for us all. Will you accept the challenge?
Perception is everything
Perception is everything
What poses a bigger barrier to people with disabilities – physical problems or attitudes?

In today's Globe and Mail, Rick talks about how perception is vital to breaking down barriers to access in our communities, as well as how a more accessible world benefits everyone socially and economically.

The opinion piece was published to commemorate the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which occurs each year on the 3rd of December.

"We need to change the way we think and talk about people with disabilities. We need to close the employment gap and teach businesses that being accessible makes economic, as well as social sense," he explains.
